Welcome

Dear Parents,
I am delighted to have your child in my Learning Lab.This year will be full of exciting new challenges and numerous learning opportunities. My personal belief is that all students have a desire to learn and be successful in school, but they need guidance and support from the adult influences in their lives.

As an educator, I am committed to being a positive influence in the lives of my students and creating a learning environment that is engaging and meets their educational needs. I look forward to meeting and working with you throughout the year to achieve academic success for your child.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Penelope Jones
6th Grade Special Education Teacher

About the Teacher

I am a native of Jackson, MS but I've lived in Olive Branch for over 20 years.  I am married with two wonderful sons. Professionally, I enjoyed a 15 year career in business but made a life-changing career move when I choose to pursue teaching.  Educating children has been my MOST rewarding career.
In my spare time I enjoy college and professional football, especially SEC football and I absolutely LOVE my Ole Miss Rebels.  Spring is devoted to NCAA basketball and March Madness.  I also enjoy photography and scrap booking.

Education
Bachelor of Business Administration - University of Mississippi
Master of Arts in Teaching - Belhaven University

Experience
I have six years experience teaching with Shelby County Schools.  I received my certification to teach Special Education in 2015 and I'm excited about the opportunity to work with 7th grade Inclusion students at Olive Branch Middle School.
